The Citroen ZX is a compact car produced by Citroen in Europe from 1991 to 1998, and China by Dongfeng Peugeot-Citroen Automobile since 1992.

During the 1990s, the ZX was Citroën’s competitor in the class traditionally dominated in Europe by the Ford Escort and Vauxhall/Opel Astra, a market segment Citroën had moved away from when the GSA was replaced with the BX ten years earlier. The BX had tried to address the small family car market and the large family car market by being ‘between sizes’ but well packaged. In 1993 the Citroën ZX chassis was also used for the Peugeot 306 which, with its attractive Peugeot 205 derived styling, was a more successful car than its twin. The Citroen Berlingo and Peugeot Partner were also built on the same platform. European production and sales of the ZX ceased in 1998 with the arrival of the replacement Citroën Xsara.

It’s a front-wheel drive transverse engine and equipped with a tailgate. The ZX is proposed to launch with four equipment levels (Reflex, Avantage, Aura and volcanoes) and four petrol engines: 1.1 liter (60 hp), 1.4 liter (75 hp), 1.6 liter (89 hp), 1.9 liter (130 hp), reserved for the Volcano and then replaced by a 2.0 liter 122 hp.

A special sport model, the ZX coupe 2.0 16v petrol (16 valves) 155 hp, completes the range. There will be increased to 167 hp in 1997.

The term BSI stands for ‘Built-in Systems interface. In simple terms it is a central controller or interconnection unit that allows the sharing and management of information across the ECU’s fitted to a vehicle. Peugeot BSi can only be coded ONCE to the original vehicle it was fitted to at the factory, once an attempt is made at coding a BSi that’s it, you don’t get a second chance. For a second hand BSi to work you also need the matching transponder immobiliser keys & the engine ecu plus the radio will need to be re coded, a lot of sellers forget to tell you this until after you have bought a used unit of them. The BSi unit also stores the radio & immobiliser security codes inside plus the VIN number, unless everything matches up the engine isn’t going to run & the radio will keep beeping, having the wrong VIN number can give problems if the vehicle is ever checked by the Police or if its plugged in at a Peugeot dealer as it will download incorrect updates.

The Peugeot BSi reboot procedure contains about how to do the right procedure in rebooting Peugeot BSi. First of all, make sure you have disconnected the diagnostic tool. Put the driver’s window down, lift the bonnet and ensure all equipment is switched off. Remove the key from the ignition and closed all doors. Disconnect the vehicle battery after three minutes waiting, and wait 15 seconds more after disconnecting. After that, you can reconnect the vehicle battery, then wait for another 10 seconds without opening any the doors. The next step is switching the side lights on through the driver’s window. Then switch on the ignition and check system’s functionality. Hold lock button on key down for 10 seconds. Remove key open & close door test central locking system Start the engine and complete the system’s check. Failure to follow this procedure could result in incorrect operation of many BSI related items. Once you fail at coding Peugeot BSi, you’ll never have a second chance for sure. A second hand BSi units is total useless on there own.

You have to switch off all equipments, interior lights, close the doors, and leave its driver window open every time you have to disconnect its battery. Do not forget to switch off the ignition and remove the key and any diagnostic equipment. Please wait about three minutes before you disconnect the battery. The Peugeot BSi must be allowed to go to SLEEP i.e. into “active economy mode”. Please do not operate any equipment on the vehicle during this rebooting procedure time. Remember, even opening the bonnet will wake the BSi on a vehicle fitted with alarm. If the battery is under the bonnet, open the bonnet first and leave it up. During the 3 minute waiting period, make sure that you never forget to disconnect any DIAG equipment. You should not operate any other vehicles. It sometimes takes a few attempts following this procedure before it works. You can download Peugeot BSi reboot procedure below for free.

Peugeot 307 is a vehicle with 100 kW of power at 6,000 rpm engine. This vehicle is most popular model. It’s available in numerous versions. There’s hatchback, wagon and the trendy CC (coupe/convertible) in the model line-up. There’s a choice of petrol or diesel in the hatch and wagon. The transmission was a 5-speed manual, although auto is an option. Perception says the 307 is a small car, but the wagon at 4.42 metres cannot possibly be classified as a small car. It is aimed squarely at those with active lifestyles who want space, style and performance but who don’t need a large family wagon.

Standard features on the Peugeot 307 XSE Touring include an excellent climate control air conditioning system with pollen filter, power windows, cruise control, 16” alloy wheels, 5 discs CD player, auto headlight illumination and rain sensing wipers. An extensive list of safety features are also standard consisting of driver and passenger front and side airbags, front and rear curtain airbags, ABS equipped four-wheel disc brakes with EBFD, brake assist and active front head restraints.

Peugeot 307 XSE Touring is 220 mm longer than the hatch. That’s 100 mm longer in the wheelbase and 120 mm longer in rear overhang. This makes the Peugeot 307 XSE Touring quite a nice size, not too small, not too big. Certainly, the interior is a well designed roomy package. The windscreen is big, which at its base is a long way ahead of the driver, adding to the feeling of abundant space. Peugeot 307 XSE Touring provides a very roomy interior and it’s a feeling which is not apparent in all cars.

Peugeot 307 XSE Touring was just so smooth and so effortless. It leaves a lasting impression. The quietness is another plus. All told, everything about driving this car is on the positive side of the ledger. The brakes, the steering, the suspension, the transmission and the engine all add up to a remarkably efficient package. Peugeot 307 XSE Touring is a quiet car, so smooth and so comfortable. There is no room for improvement with the Peugeot 307 XSE Touring. It is simply an excellent presentation of what a small to medium sized wagon should be. This Peugeot 307 XSE Touring price range is at $31,690 for the HDi 2.0 litre diesel (5 speed manual only), $33,490 for the XSE petrol 5 speed (as tested) or $35,690 for the XSE automatic. You can download Peugeot 307 XSE Touring manual.pdf below for free.

The maintenance intervals in this manual are provided with the assumption that you will be carrying out the work yourself. These are the minimum maintenance intervals recommended by the manufacturer for vehicles driven daily. If you wish to keep your
vehicle in peak condition at all times, you may wish to perform some of these procedures more often. We encourage frequent
maintenance, because it enhances the efficiency, performance and resale value of your vehicle.
If the vehicle is driven in dusty areas, used to tow a trailer, or driven frequently at slow speeds (idling in traffic) or on short journeys, more frequent maintenance intervals are recommended.
When the vehicle is new, it should be serviced by a factory-authorised dealer service department, in order to preserve the
factory warranty.

The aim of this manual is to help you get the best value from your vehicle. It can do so in several ways. It can help you decide what work must be done (even should you choose to get it done by a garage), provide information on routine maintenance and servicing, and give a logical course of action and diagnosis when random faults occur.
However, it is hoped that you will use the manual by tackling the work yourself. On simpler jobs, it may even be quicker than booking the car into a garage and going there twice, to leave and collect it. Perhaps most important, a lot of money can be saved by avoiding the costs a garage must charge to cover its labour and overheads.
The manual has drawings and descriptions to show the function of the various components, so that their layout can be understood. Then the tasks are described and photographed in a clear step-by-step sequence.
