Mitsubishi’s new Sportback is designed  with the fans of compact four-door
hatchbacks in mind. The 2010 Sportback is offered in two trim levels, GTS and
Ralliart. It abandons its former station wagon body style and is based on the
platform of the sedan but with an added 1.5 cm in length and 2.5 cm in height. The
Sportback GTS and sedan GTS are similar inside, whereas the Ralliart cabin mimics
that of the Lancer Evolution.

Interior and trunk

The front seats are very comfortable, even without adjustable lumbar support. Head
and leg room are adequate for most, and the driving position is very good.

Getting into the back is easier than getting out, because of a lack of space between
the B-pillar and the seat cushion. The seat is comfortable for two adults. Leg room
is good but head room is a bit tight for tall people. The 60/40-split seatback folds
almost flat to the floor.

Cargo capacity is good, with 1,320 litres (46.6 cubic feet) of volume with the seats
down. The hatch opening is wide. The load sill is a bit high.
